The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that continuous voter registration will resume on September 29, 2025, across the country.
In a statement released yesterday, the commission said the exercise will target new voters ahead of the 2027 General Election, with a special focus on first-time voters, persons with disabilities, and Kenyans in the diaspora.
IEBC noted that registration centers will be set up in all counties, and it urged eligible citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to ensure they are listed in the electoral roll.
The resumption of the exercise comes as political activity begins to gain momentum ahead of the 2027 polls. Several aspirants, including human rights activist Boniface Mwangi, have already declared their interest in contesting the presidency.
The commission has also assured Kenyans that technology and verification systems will be strengthened to avoid disputes and enhance transparency in the upcoming elections.
